ABOUT ROCK ‘N’ ROLL FANTASY CAMP

For our campers, this is a life changing experience. Some of the campers play well and even gave up careers as musicians to become CEOs and lawyers. Some campers can’t play at all. What they all have in common is passion for rock music. At Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp they all get to pursue their passion – and meet, and play with the artists who became the soundtrack of their lives. It has been a fantastic experience for all of us who have been able to witness it for the past sixteen years.

David Fishof is the founder and creator of the famed Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp where rock dreams become reality. The idea came to him after years of producing rock tours throughout the word. He’s been honored to work with veteran rockers, Roger Daltrey, Levon Helm, Joe Walsh, Roger Hodgson, Todd Rundgren, Jack Bruce, Dr. John, Randy Bachman, and so many more. He feels fortunate to have seen their talent first hand. David’s desire to share this experience with you, gave him the inspiration to produce the one-of- a-kind, Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp.

Past rock star camp headliners have included Jeff Beck, Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Roger Daltrey (The Who), Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Sammy Hagar, Gene Simmons (KISS), Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule), Dave Davies (The Kinks), Bill Wyman (The Rolling Stones), Slash, Bret Michaels (Poison), Cheap Trick, Dr. John, George Thorogood, Jack Bruce (Cream), Joe Satriani, Joe Walsh, Meatloaf, Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Duff McKagan , (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver), Michael Anthony (Van Halen), among others.

Concert in Leeds

John Knibbs about in a show in 1976:

The band appeared at the Mecca Nightclub in the Merrion Centre Leeds sometime in 1976 I don’t know if was a warm up for the Leeds University gig that year.My wife and I met and got married that year so we know it was definitely 1976.Someone we both worked with organised the tickets and most of our office went but it was a small venue and not particularly well attended so whether it was a last minute impromptu performance I don’t know.

Tommy in baltimore

Rosemary asks about a show in the 1970s in Baltimore:

Reminiscing but can’t find any history on Tommy being performed in baltimore. Thought it was the civic center in baltimore. I remember where I was in relation to the stage so I know it wasn’t merriweather post pavilion. I would just love to know when it was, that’s all. Those were the days

Who Concert in Indianapolis

Laura asks about a Who Concert in Indianapolis in 1967:

I went to their concert at the Coliseum in Indianapolis in 1967, around late August. Herman’s Hermits opened for them. Pete Townsend destroyed a double-neck 6/12 Gibson SG during their final song of My Generation. He then threw the remaining hunk of guitar through Herman’s Hermits bass drum. At least I believe it was 1967 and it was during the Indiana State Fair. Possibly another band played, but I don’t remember for sure. Do you have any info on this?

Helsinki, Kaivopuisto, Finland, June 1966

Marko Toikkanen is curious about The Who’s concert in helsinki on June, 6th 1966. He writes:

Just curious if you have any more information about this concert. I couldn’t find mention of it from “Anywhere Anyhow Anywhere” and few sources references the following year’s gig at Helsinki Ice Arena ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BkGeEYNxB4 ) as Who’s first visit to my country. So I’m wondering if it happened or it was planned but never went ahead for some reason.
Thanks for a fantastic site once again.

Hampton Beach Casino show date

Dave English looks for a show The Who played at the Hampton Beach Casino. He writes:

A local venue (Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom) in Hampton, New Hampshire, USA has decided tk make a wall of fame for famous acts that played there. It seems they know The Who played there but don’t know the exact date. My guess is very early on in their career. I searched for NH but only see a 2013 show in Manchester. Any idea? Thanks.

Any help is welcome. Write to info@thewholive.net.
